i can sympathize w/carter. when i was 14 i was super in love with this girl i was friends w/ but my closeted ass couldn’t tell her i was into her or gay. so i did the math and calculated for how long i’d been into her (say, 3 years by then?) and decided to make one paper star for every day that i’d loved her, fill up jars w/the paper stars and give them all to her on her birthday. thank god i never, ever managed to do that because time proved she was 100% straight. no chance. but oh my god.
