I was anxious about coming here since some people can get really passionate when we are delayed, but your comments are lovely! Thank you everyone for your understanding! We really appreciate your patience. Hazel has been working hard all day and yesterday on these pages. Cheer her on!

We still got a few hours ahead of us, but feel free to ask me questions while we wait!

I suppose this isn’t really a question at all but just, I want to say how much I love this comic? Like, I dunno, it’s just so nice and I enjoy reading it so much and the amount of effort and time clearly put into it is so amazing and kinda inspiring and like, the noticeable improvement in both characterization and the art style is just, wowie. Thank you both so much for your time and effort, it’s clearly much appreciated by many.

“Hazel has been working hard all day and yesterday on these pages”
“these pages”
“s”
Hint hint?

shes working on three pages at once so we can make our print deadline!

Thank you! I understand, we’re not the most punctual people, and waiting a week between these pages is rough since not a whole lot happens each week! The story is meant to be read all at once, so you guys have to deal with a lot of suspense. But hearing your feedback every week makes this really worthwhile, so thank you for being there!

I wonder, did either of you study any of this whole process to make this web comic, before starting out? :)

Hell no. We jumped right in.
I don’t know if I would recommend that.

That is so awesome :) I keep reading it over and over and the progress is amazing. Do you plan to study and/or work on these kinds of things in the future (on a bigger scale/full-time)? Never expected to find a Bakuman style writer-artist combo on my favorite genre. So cool ^^

We’re going to keep making comics in the future! I don’t know about a bigger scale, but we will be making another story when we finish ARH. I’m toying with the idea of going more pro for the next story, but we will see when the time comes! We really enjoy being independent, but we don’t get much $$$. Granted going to a publisher means meager $$$ and losing all your rights and shit. I dunno, we will see!

Yeah, the $ part has always been difficult for an artist.
I just moved 13500km away from homeland, but once I find a decent job here, I will do my part to support you two as many others have on Patreon :) Thank you very much for the hard work and dedication.

The comic is beautiful and lovely, and actually really well written? Which is relatively hard to come across! Now a question, if that’s cool! How far do you guys plot in advance, as a rule? Do you know the entire story or did you start with a premise and just GO?

V1 was entirely plotted from the beginning. V2 was more loose, I wasn’t really sure how to handle it in the beginning, but I had a general idea of where I wanted it to go. It’s a BL romance, so it sticks to a certain rhythm.
As a rule, you should have your story planned completely before you do a comic :>

i recently read your david prequel out of curiosity……. tell me why do you have a need to make me cry the tears of intense emotion :””””””’)()()()()()

i enjoy it when my characters suffer
readers suffering is a nice byproduct

I hope Hazel isn’t overworking herself.. Well honestly, I hope you guys never overwork yourselves. You two are really great. We understand delays and things come up.

Dont worry, she stops when she is in pain! We don’t put the comic over our own safety :>
Edit: I have been informed that I am incorrect. She stops when she’s in a lot of pain, at least!

When you’re sad because you’re also in the process of making a web comic and you know how much time each and every page takes for the artist and you feel bad because OH THE HAND CRAMPS OH THE HUMANITY but you’re also super impatient and you just need to know but you appreciate the creators and all that they do so you just chill and forget until you get excited all again

Webcomics are hard work that you really only begin to realize once you do them for yourself! I had no idea how much work it was before I started, and I’m not even the one responsible for the art!
Chill out and watch some bob ross for a few hours!

My webcomic attempts aren’t half as good as yours so I can’t imagine how hard you work. Thusly I patiently wait for your master pieces.

Around how many hours on average a week do you put into ARH? I know it’s probs a lot but like a number estimate lol.

Depends on the week! Sometimes we take a break, some weeks it’s more. I would say that on average, each page takes about 8-12 hours in the art process from sketches to colour (on Hazel’s end). She tries to do them in batches to cut down on the production time per page. If you factor in script writing, and planning, more hours can be included!
So a lot. We should start properly tracking it!

soon

also I have a question

Do you think when ARH is officially finished and you’re probably in the midst of another BL webcomic that you’ll write shorts about Adrian and Carter in college or something?

I LOVE YOUR WORK

since your answering SOME questions i have one
How did you come up with this story/plot?
(like, was it just a random thought or was it something you saw?)
i’d really like to know
~Nina

me: “lets make a comic about a tsundere and a douchebag”
hazel: “yes”
Me: “k done”
It took under a week.

OMG THATS AMAZING
lol
reminds me of when my Partner and I started our comic.
Grace: “i NEEDZ MY BF he dunn love mehh”
Me: “he’s probably gay.”
Grace: “BUT I NEEDZ LOVE”
Me: “draw the love grace.”
*ten minuets later*
Grace: “NINA MAKE A STORY TO GO WITH MY OC’S!”
and that is how it started.
hahaha
thanks again for making this comic it always makes my week better! :)

Can I just say how much I love you two? On top of all the work and life stuff that you have to do, you both work so hard on this beautiful comic and I love everything about it! The complexity of the characters, the art progression (BY GOD, THE ART IS GORGEOUS.), the comic relief, the serious moments. Each panel is so engaging and perfectly encapsulates the emotion felt by the characters and reaches out to my very soul. You’re both such wonderful people. Please, if anything, stay awesome. :D
